Boralion Dragon (Boar-al-ee-on)

Type: Dragon
Language: Mir'aa
Average Height: 9'-14' at shoulder
Regions: Chimre, Mimore, The Dreaming
Life Span: N/A
Average Weight: 800-1200 lbs.

The great dragons of the Dreamwaker, the boralion are a sturdily-built species with powerful jaws and massive claws made for burrowing deep into the earth. Deep violet to indigo, their iridecent scales shimmer even in the lowest light, and their hides are studded with Mirajin shards that grow slowly as the dragons age.

Most commonly seen in dreams, boralion lair far underground in the waking world, carving intricate tunnels and caverns through solid rock. A well-used lair gradually becomes a portal between the waking world and the Dreaming; mirajinoid crystals form on the walls naturally over time, even unaided by the dragon's breath.

Despite their menacing appearance, boralion claws are of little use in combat, being long and unwieldy. Instead the dragons make use of dream-based magic, their bite, and should a battle carry on for longer than they please, their devastating breath weapon--a ray of mirajin radiation. Their breath crystallizes stone, metal and plant life, and utterly destabilizes living creatures, mutating them into pulsing, quivering blobs of flesh and slime. Boralions do not use their breath against living beings lightly, despite being dragons of chaos, though why is uncertain-- rumor has it that the Dreamwaker has warned them against it save in emergency situations.

Elusive like their master, boralion dragons avoid making direct contact with mortals whenever possible; being laced with mirajin energy thanks to the crystals that are part of them, it is very easy for an unprotected mortal to become distorted by regular exposure to them.

Typically purple, on extremely rare occasion a white boralion may be sighted. Among those friendly to the Dreamwaker, seeing or dreaming of a white boralion is said to be good luck.
