| Faeling are the unfortunate souls who are born of smallfae and human or elven stock; more a blanket term than a specific one. These include half-goblins, half-kobolds, half-pixies and half-sprites; the exact circumstances behind such a pairing usually being a mystery one is best not thinking about for too long. | |||

| Half-elf (Cierne) | |||

The Half-elf -- known crudely as cierne, or "error" by the Aeneski, is a cross of human and elf, by far the most common hybrid found on Valenth. They blend the best--and worst-- features of both of their parent races, shorter than most humans and sturdier than most elves, with small, pointed ears and brilliant eyes. Both humans and Aeneski accept them into their societies, though the latter look down their noses at such crossbreeds, of course. |

One of the few quadripedal humanoid hybrids, the manticore is a cross between a chimaera and a human or elf. Few people are aware of this fact, however-- the poor beasts resemble monstrous lions with humanoid faces and scaly, ridged backs more than either parent, and are wholly incapable of taking a humanoid form. Many chimaera will sell off their own manticore children as exotic pets in the Sorilian market, as having a manticore child is a symbol of great shame among their society, but the creatures fetch a high price from the ignorant. |

| Half-silisk, half-human, the Silthr are soft-scaled and tuskless, sleeker and smaller in stature than silisk and more resemblant of "lizardmen" than the basilisk-people, though they retain the third eye. | |||
