Valenth

Kelan Flarion is the personification of death--
or, at the very least, most mortals see him that way.
Granted the questionable gift of direct influence over life and death by the Mirajin's power, he uses his abilities to ensure that Valenth's life cycle is kept. This puts him in direct conflict with unnatural beings such as mutants and undead, as well as mortals who simply wish to live forever.

Knowing he would have difficulty performing his duty if a dear friend were to die, he simply avoids making them. Many legends state that the Flamekeeper and the Dreamwaker were once best friends-- now caught in an eternal cycle, keeping one another in check, their friendship hanging precariously in the balance.

Because of his silence, Kelan's militant son Valdren often takes the forefront along with the Firestarters faction; while he works behind the scenes to preserve and bolster life in wild areas and reverse the effects of the Mirajin's wild energy, his heir and flight aid and cleanse the impure-- if not by cure, then by destruction.

During those rare moments which Kelan is seen in person, he tends to be softspoken, ever wearing an expression of quiet, exhausted despair.
